In fact, since our inception in 1946, no PSI client has ever lost a challenge in a court of law when using PSI assessments as recommended. PSI is chosen to design, validate and administer assessments and selection processes in some of the most litigious settings in the nation. As an example, our recent implementation of a selection process for 42,000 firefighter candidates for the largest city jurisdiction in the U.S. was delivered under the strict scrutiny of a federal judge, a state attorney general, the city attorney’s office, the union, the commissioner, and the same third party special interest groups that had brought suit against prior non-PSI selection processes. PSI’s selection process was the first program in nearly a decade that passed muster with all of these groups, enabling the City to hire their first firefighter class in years. The PSI assessment process was favorably written up in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and Washington Post, for its accuracy and fairness. To date, not a single challenge has been lodged against the PSI process. In 2014, PSI was once again selected by the City to design, validate and deliver their next generation of assessments. PSI’s expertise in legal defensibility is so extensive, that even organizations not using our assessments still choose PSI to provide legal compliance consulting and oversight for their selection processes.
